ANUGRAHA REHABILITATION CENTER
CORE (Center for Opportunities in Education and Rehabilitation) runs an integrated school called Ankur Vidya Mandir headed by Mrs. Madhuri Deshpande, at Ferguson College Campus, Pune. They focus on inclusive education where children with disabilities are given equal opportunity of education along with other children. Anugraha Rehabilitation Center was started as a day care center for special children. It is now a therapy and rehabilitation center for children with special needs.
Animal Angels conducts Animal Assisted Therapy sessions at the school for these children. Therapy dog Ella and Shadow Jr. are visiting therapy dogs who visits the center along with Animal Angels Volunteer Mrs Pallavi Nanivdekar, Aditi and Tejashree. Shadow Junior is one of the pup of Therapy dog Ella. Shadow has continued the therapy program where earlier his mother Ella used to work. The children instantly took on to this new vibrant pup who has been instrumental in bringing about positive changes in them.
The teacher say that they have seen a big change in Autistic and physically disabled children who have become much more active and communicative since the Pawsitive Program started.
